Committee for aid to Kosovo and Metohija: Students from Republika Srpska raising funds for peers in Kosovo and Metohija

The humanitarian campaign “Bring joy to peers in Kosovo and Metohija,” launched in September by the Committee for Aid to Kosovo and Metohija, has so far been supported by eight primary and secondary schools, which have donated 13,500 convertible marks to the Committee’s account. The funds are aimed at providing packages for their peers, as well as aiding children and youth with developmental difficulties and large Serb families in Kosovo and Metohija.

This humanitarian initiative, which has the approval and support of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska, will continue until December 31. The largest donation this year, amounting to 6,493 convertible marks, has come from the students and educators of “Vuk Karadžić” Primary School in Bijeljina, according to the Committee.

The Committee hopes to bring joy to around 3,000 Serbian children across Kosovo and Metohija, Kordun, Banija, and Western Slavonia in Croatia from St. Nicholas’ Day to St. Sava’s Day.

They are especially pleased, as stated by the Committee, to assist children and youth with developmental difficulties and to support the equipping of the Day Center “Support Me – January 9th.”
