The Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, Petar Đokić, is participating in the “Russian Energy Week” forum in Moscow, where the most critical issues in the global energy sector are being discussed.
Đokić stated that the Russian Energy Week in Moscow is an opportunity for participants to exchange information and experiences in the energy field, contributing to the overall energy transition that has been ongoing worldwide for some time.
He emphasized the importance of Republika Srpska’s participation in such a prestigious energy forum, which is organized at a global level, with 55 representatives from various countries and more than 200 companies from around the world in attendance.
Đokić highlighted the significance of Russia’s role as a country that, despite being isolated by some Western European states, remains aware of its global importance in the energy sector.
“Russia is a leader in terms of the total production of energy from various sources, and as such, it strives to contribute to the energy transition, particularly in the context of promoting green energy. At the same time, it supports a transition that helps reduce the harmful impacts of the energy sector, which negatively affect climate change,” Đokić said.
During Russian Energy Week, Đokić attended a plenary session where Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke.
Putin noted that if the West rejects affordable Russian energy in favor of significantly more expensive alternatives, that is their choice. He directed Gazprom and the government to prepare a ten-year development plan for the gas sector and to strengthen the infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route.
