The First Youth Agriculture Conference of Republika Srpska has opened in Obudovac.
During the conference, it was emphasized that young people should play a key role in shaping agricultural policies, as well as other political sectors.
Minister of Agriculture Savo Minić stated that following this conference, young people will form a body that will actively collaborate with the Ministry of Agriculture in developing new measures.
“There are 12 percent of young people under the age of 40 in Republika Srpska, compared to nine percent in Europe, which means that we must do everything to keep young people from leaving,” Minić noted.
Dragan Vučković, a representative of IFAD, and Petar Nikolić, President of the Conference Organizing Committee, also addressed the gathering.
The Youth Agriculture Conference brought together more than 200 young agricultural producers and agronomists from 43 municipalities and cities across Republika Srpska. The event is attended by over 50 officials, guests, and lecturers from various European countries.
The conference is sponsored by the Office of the President of Republika Srpska, organized by the “Young Agro-Entrepreneurs Network,” and co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of Republika Srpska, the Chamber of Commerce, the University of Banja Luka, and the Center for Socio-Political Research.
The conference is being held at the “Dr. Mila Jelić” Cultural Center.
The awarding of the “Golden Ear” prize for the best agro-entrepreneurs is scheduled for tomorrow at 7:00 PM.
The conference was opened by Sonja Davidović, the representative of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
