Stevandić: Republika Srpska will not allow itself to be destroyed

Despite how difficult it is today in Republika Srpska, how financially unstable operations are due to sanctions, and the threat that key leaders may be isolated, Republika Srpska has achieved a certain level of self-awareness and will not allow itself to be destroyed, stated Nenad Stevandić, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Srpska, during his appearance on the Telering show.

Speaking about the issues in Banja Luka due to the failure to hold city assembly sessions, Stevandić noted that the people of Banja Luka are living between political trenches.

  • United Srpska is committed to making Banja Luka stable, not a city divided by political trenches, but that is exactly what is happening today. Is Banja Luka stable? No. Development is being obstructed, there are no sessions, funds for building roundabouts and water supply have been canceled, and people are without water in 40-degree heat. Face each other, look each other in the eye, and tell the people why there is no water – Stevandić said.

Stevandić emphasized that the situation in Srpska is difficult due to imposed stereotypes that it is a bad entity with anti-European leadership and other falsehoods, but that the social welfare system, pensions, and other services have not been disrupted.

  • I believe those who are waiting for our collapse and plan to impose the opposition as an alternative are making a mistake because there is no one in the opposition capable of leading and managing even a local community – Stevandić added.

He reminded that Srpska remained neutral on the issue of the war in Ukraine, but did not impose sanctions on Russia because of the long-standing relations between the Serb and Russian peoples, not because of “taking sides in the geopolitical conflicts of the great powers.”
