Vulin denied overflight to East Sarajevo

The Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, was once again denied permission by the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina to overfly the country to visit Serbs in Pale today and to celebrate the Feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, the patron saint of this municipality, the Office of the Serbian Government for Media Cooperation announced.

Vulin was invited by the Serbs in Pale to attend the celebratory liturgy and the breaking of the ceremonial bread as the godfather of the feast, and to lay flowers on the Republika Srpska Square on behalf of Serbia in honor of the fallen Serb soldiers who died during the Defensive Homeland War of the 1990s.

  • Although the Deputy Prime Minister’s office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Serbian Embassy had submitted all the necessary information and accompanying documentation in a timely manner, including the purpose of the visit, the authorities in the Federation, by remaining silent and not responding, did not grant permission for the overflight, the statement said.

The Serbian Embassy, as noted by the Serbian Government, followed all the diplomatic procedures in a timely manner, yet the authorities in the Federation failed to respond to the request.

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, headed by Elmedin Konaković, once again did not grant permission for the overflight to Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin, the Serbian Government announced, according to Tanjug.
