“I expect that the person who caused the incident involving the convoy of vehicles in which I was present will be prosecuted,” said the Minister of Security in the Council of Ministers, Nenad Nešić, in a statement to RTRS.
Nešić mentioned that, according to initial unverified information, the individual in question supports radical Islamic activities.
- “The vehicles had their lights on. The security personnel acted in accordance with the law and tried to remove him. He did not comply with the orders of the authorized officials. Anything other than prosecution would imply that attacks, primarily on Serbs in Sarajevo, are permitted,” emphasized Nešić.
To recap, Nešić’s vehicle was intercepted in Sarajevo. The driver of another vehicle attempted to stop the convoy in which Nešić was traveling with his security detail. Thanks to the swift response of the officials, Nešić safely arrived at his workplace, and the Sarajevo Canton police identified the person who caused the incident. Unofficially, the person in question is Kerim Habib.
The responsible prosecutor from the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office concluded that there were no elements of a criminal offense.
President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the level of insecurity faced by Srpska representatives in Sarajevo is unacceptable, as demonstrated by the attack on the vehicle carrying Nešić.
