Austrian businessmen interested in investing in Srpska

The Serbo-Austrian Economic Forum in Trebinje provided an excellent opportunity for dialogue and networking between our and Austrian businessmen, confirming their interest in investing across Republika Srpska. Direct contacts are the best way to establish quality business cooperation, said Dražen Vrhovac, Acting Director of the Investment-Development Bank of Republika Srpska (IRBRS), who participated in the forum over the past three days.

Vrhovac congratulated Mladen Filipović, Head of the Republika Srpska Representation in Vienna, and his team on successfully organizing the forum.

  • I took this opportunity to personally invite Austrian businessmen to the Second Investment Forum and the Fourth Investment Conference “Invest Srpska,” which IRBRS is preparing for November on Jahorina – Vrhovac stated.

Over the past three days, 30 Austrian businessmen interested in investing in Republika Srpska visited Trebinje. The goal of the Forum was to promote the investment potential of Republika Srpska and strengthen economic ties with Austria.

Mladen Filipović, Head of the Republika Srpska Representation in Austria, said that Austrians recognize the investment potential in Republika Srpska and that their participation in the forum was already a success.

  • When they see that the business community is very active and that the contacts are good, they decide to open companies. We expect this to happen – Filipović said.

Trebinje is known as a center of tourism and wine production, a rapidly growing sector worldwide, offering exceptional opportunities for Republika Srpska.

Andreas Sael, a wine producer and restaurant owner in Vienna, mentioned that he had the opportunity to personally meet businesspeople and establish a new network and communication, to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.

Duško Pantović, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Trebinje, stated that new steps have been taken to ensure that more Herzegovinian products find their way onto the shelves of markets in Austria.
