From today until August 14th, Trebinje is hosting the Classical Music Festival. Now in its sixth year, the festival has firmly established itself on Europe’s musical map, attracting internationally recognized names from the world of classical music.
This August, Trebinje will once again showcase a range of renowned artists. Over the next ten days, the “Music and More SummerFest” will feature a series of concerts by distinguished musicians, some of which will take place at unique open-air venues. This year’s festival will also highlight young talents, including students from Trebinje’s Secondary Music School.
- The festival will welcome artist Ksenija Kumento, a coloratura soprano who, although American from New York, has Serb roots through her mother, Filipino through her father, and has been living and working in Germany for many years. She will perform at the gala concert on August 6th in the “Crkvina” amphitheater in Trebinje, – said Tatjana Ranković, director of the “Music and More SummerFest” festival.
The Classical Music Festival, which is a unique blend of music, performing, and visual arts, has significantly raised the cultural bar in Trebinje and the surrounding region.
- What is special about this festival is that it attracts a large number of visitors from the region, so we decided to hold some of the concerts in neighboring cities. We have been to Mostar, last year to Herceg Novi, and this year we are going to Kotor, – emphasized Slađana Skočajić, head of the culture department.
The “Music and More SummerFest” officially begins tomorrow with a gala concert in the Crkvina amphitheater, starting at 8:30 PM. On the same day, a welcoming overture will be performed at noon at the Trebinje market.
