The city is soon expected to enrich its tourist offer with the renovated Spa and Recreational Center in Srpske Toplice, eagerly anticipated by the locals and those who wish to enjoy the benefits of thermal mineral waters.

At the site of the former “Šeher” pool, visitors will have access to not only pools but also a salt room, sauna, Turkish bath, and many other amenities.

From the Institute for Physical Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Orthopedic Surgery “Dr. Miroslav Zotović,” which is constructing this magnificent spa, it was stated that a technical inspection of the facility and infrastructure is currently underway, as well as the public procurement process for interior furnishing and equipment.

“After obtaining the necessary documentation and furnishing the facility, it will be put into operation,” emphasized the representatives from “Zotović.”

The facility is intended for all users of health and recreational services, providing the option of treatment with a medical referral, as well as rest and recreation for those who wish to pay for the services.

“The price list will be formed before the facility opens,” stated representatives from “Zotović,” adding that it will be aligned with the price lists of other high-quality health institutions in the region.

According to them, the purpose of the facility is therapeutic (spa) and a combination of therapeutic content with recreational and aesthetic segments.

“The primary contents will be oriented towards the quality, modern, and rational use of the natural resource of thermal mineral water, which includes a large number of water and accompanying facilities,” they said, adding that these include indoor and outdoor pools, a small children’s pool with a sunbathing area, wellness pool, massages, saunas, salt room, Turkish bath, fitness center, gym, and more.

Belgrade resident Borka Antonijević, who visited relatives in Banja Luka, says she is excited about the news that the spa in Srpske Toplice will soon open, as she would like to spend her vacation there.

“Every summer, I visit a spa and return home rejuvenated. I am sure this spa and recreational center will become a new destination for all who care about their health and want to experience the charms of thermal mineral waters,” said Antonijević.

The project to reconstruct the old spa aims to create a complex that meets all the needs of modern people for recreation and health preservation, as well as treatment and recovery.

The use of spa water in the former Šeher has a long tradition dating back to Roman times, highlighting the great potential of this area for health tourism and the promotion of health.

This Banja Luka neighborhood represents the oldest part of the city, known for its thermal mineral water springs and as the habitat of the endemic fern with the fairy-tale name “fairy hair.”

National Monument
Due to the specific environment created by the use of thermal mineral waters, the area where the spa and recreational center is located is protected and classified as a national monument of BiH.

“By assessing the development potential of this area, a proposal for transformation was defined, with the complete reconstruction of the former pool as the first activity,” stated the website of the “Dr. Miroslav Zotović” Institute.

They added that during the reconstruction and revitalization, special attention was paid to preserving the ambient context and the value of the national monument.
