Ensembles from Srpska and Serbia Perform at “Vidovdan Assembly”

The “Vidovdan Assembly” was held in Zvornik, featuring performances by cultural and artistic societies (KUD) from Republika Srpska and Serbia.

The cultural societies that performed at the “Vidovdan Assembly” included “Mladost” from Pecka, “Elektroporcelan” from Aranđelovac, “Kostolac” from Kostolac, “Branko Radičević” from Sremska Mitrovica, and the host society “Sveti Sava” from Zvornik.

Dragan Golić, president of the Zvornik KUD, expressed regret to reporters that due to heavy rain, the event could not be held outdoors and was instead moved to the Recreational-Sports Center.

Golić emphasized that this assembly is very important because Vidovdan is one of the most significant holidays for Serbs, adding that this event helps preserve traditions and folk customs.

Dragan Đorđević, artistic director of the Folklore Ensemble “Branko Radičević” from Sremska Mitrovica, expressed his satisfaction with being part of the “Vidovdan Assembly” in Zvornik.

“Our main activity is the preservation of tradition, and we are happy to participate in this assembly,” said Đorđević, who is also the president of the International Federation of Folklore Ensembles of Serbia.

Highlighting the excellent cooperation with the KUD “Sveti Sava,” Đorđević mentioned that the Zvornik society will be their guest at the International Folklore Festival in August.

The organizer of the “Vidovdan Assembly” is KUD “Sveti Sava,” and the patron is the City of Zvornik.
