Office of the Russian Embassy opens in Banja Luka

The Russian Federation is our partner, a political ally, and in Russia, we see the fair side of today’s world and history, said Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, at the opening ceremony of the Office of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Banja Luka.

The office was inaugurated by Dodik and the Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Kalabukhov, who declared today a historic day.

“We have been building this together, and we in Republika Srpska did not hide our desire to have a consulate here, which has finally happened. We perceive this as an emotional moment because it involves the Russian Federation,” said Dodik.

He emphasized that Vladimir Putin is a great man and a president who loves his people.

“I am completely certain that President Putin is on the side of peace today, but a peace that includes the defense of national and strategic interests,” said Dodik.

He recalled that Republika Srpska did not allow sanctions to be imposed on Russia.

“We have our dreams, which we will know how to realize. We will share them with our Russian friends because they have shown that they understand us in difficult times,” said Dodik.

He highlighted that all but Russia have entered the revision of the Dayton Agreement.

“In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they accepted international intervention. Republika Srpska is not a disruptive factor. We only seek a return to the original Dayton. We won’t promote them now; it’s enough that they know,” said Dodik.

Dodik states that the West, led by the UK and the USA, has a conspiracy against the Serbian people.

“Like the old saying ‘divide and conquer.’ They constantly do this in our regions. At the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, the Russian Federation is completely stigmatized, which is not justified because it is done only by representatives of one nation. When our views are respected, then it will be the official stance of Bosnia and Herzegovina; until then, it is the wish of one nation,” said Dodik.

Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković said that significant results have been achieved in cooperation with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, connecting the institutions of Srpska and Russia in scientific-technological, economic, and cultural fields, as well as in sports.

Višković stated that the opening of the Office of the Russian Federation Embassy in Banja Luka is of great importance.

“This allows us to work even more together to improve the relations between Republika Srpska and the Russian Federation,” Višković emphasized.
