The national team of Republika Srpska departed today for Kazan, where they will compete in eight disciplines at the BRICS Games in Russia until June 23.

A ceremonial send-off was held for them at the National Tennis Center in Banja Luka, reports RTRS.

Member of the Republika Srpska national team, Marina Kurteš, expressed confidence that the athletes from Srpska will give their best and present themselves in the best possible light.

President Milorad Dodik emphasized that this is a historic moment, highlighting the fact that Republika Srpska is participating at the BRICS Games on a representative level, an organization of paramount global significance in every sense. He noted that these games are a prelude to what will happen at the BRICS summit in October.

The fifth BRICS Games will feature 27 sports. A record 97 countries have confirmed their participation, and host Russia expects around 4,000 athletes to compete.
