Vladan Kovačević from Banja Luka has signed a five-year contract with the Portuguese champions, Sporting.

The excellent goalkeeper will defend the colors of one of Portugal’s biggest clubs starting next season, arriving from Polish club Raków in a transfer worth six million euros, according to media reports.

Kovačević underwent medical examinations on Monday before signing the contract, marking a significant step in his career.

Every transfer window, there was a great buzz around the Banja Luka native, who dazzled European clubs with his phenomenal performances at Raków.

Previously, he was on the brink of signing with Benfica, but fate had it that Kovačević would become a member of their fiercest rival.

At 26 years old, he is expected to be Sporting’s first-choice goalkeeper, anticipating appearances in the Champions League, while Sporting will defend its title in the domestic league next season.

Reports indicate that there is great excitement among the club’s fans due to Kovačević’s arrival, as they are well aware of his qualities.

Numerous journalists and photographers followed his arrival in Lisbon, and Sporting plans to further strengthen the team for the challenges ahead. The brilliant coach Rúben Amorim is expected to remain on the bench of the Portuguese champions in the future.
