Republika Srpska is preventing the direct delivery of weapons to Kyiv from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), stated President of Srpska Milorad Dodik.

In an interview with the Russian news agency RIA Novosti, Dodik emphasized that NATO controls the factories in FBiH and that the federal government, as the owner, recently agreed to allow American funds to have stakes in these factories.

  • This indicates that they want to develop and strengthen this moment. We can’t do much here, only gather information and prevent direct delivery to Ukraine, which is what we are doing – added Dodik.

RIA Novosti notes that the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, requested in March that the FBiH authorities conduct an inspection of the defense industry enterprises “Pretis” and “BNT” Novi Travnik, but the federal authorities ignored this request.

At that time, photos appeared online showing Ukrainian soldiers with mortar ammunition of 82mm and 120mm calibers produced in BiH.

It is also recalled that in March, the Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Zukan Helez, stated that the production of kamikaze drones for export to Ukraine had started in FBiH, without revealing further details.
