Professor of Constitutional Law Siniša Karan stated that the politically motivated resolution on Srebrenica, which goes against the truth, will not gain strength over time but will completely disappear, simply vanishing in its own lie on which it was based. Unfortunately, until then, it will cause a lot of damage.
“All federations in the world, especially multi-ethnic ones, are based on some common interest. However, BiH at its inception did not have any interest recognized by the three peoples to live together; only sheer force compelled them to coexist.
Now, thanks to the resolution, life in BiH is based on intolerance. The resolution is a concept of impossible coexistence, a historical divider in the life of a shared state. It is not a resolution of reconciliation, but a resolution of unrest, disintegration, and lies,” Karan emphasized.
He pointed out that this resolution does not separate good from evil, but truth from lies, and it is, in fact, the embodiment of all the evil that has struck the Serbian people.
Despite all the procedural violations, the trampling of norms, the undermining of the constitutional order and institutions, despite the mockery that even the largest global forum of states and nations fell for, Karan told Srna that the Srebrenica resolution will not change the fact that Serbs are a freedom-loving people and will not change the nature of the civil war in BiH.
“The truth is one: there was no aggressor and victim here; it was an unfortunate civil, religious, and ethnic war in which everyone was a victim. This truth is told by the cemetery of Serbian victims in Bratunac, as well as numerous other ‘Bratunacs’ across BiH, and the martyrdom sites of the Serbian people from the First and Second World Wars,” Karan stressed.
He conveyed that the Serbian people will not be judged by those who have historically committed atrocities against both Serbs and all other peoples.
“The Serbian people have always fought against evil in their history, whether it was fascism, Nazism, or the Srebrenica resolution. The anti-fascist Serbian people confirmed this in the UN General Assembly: two-thirds of humanity and the largest number of countries once again clearly stated that they know that Serbs are a freedom-loving and honorable people who have always defended only their homes and have never attacked others’,” Karan concluded for Srna.
He highlighted that the Serbian people must persistently talk about their victims who have given them freedom and the Republic, and must not accept, not only the Srebrenica resolution but also the lie about the victim and the aggressor.
According to him, many countries in the world have heard for the first time about the Serbian, freedom-loving, anti-fascist, martyr people, but also about the Nazis and fascists who are trying to cleanse their conscience through the victims of their own genocide committed against them.
“The world is no longer the same; the truth is heard, there is no ‘universal truth’ of the powerful, those who have oppressed others and spread their lies about ‘humanitarian’ bombings with depleted uranium and atomic bombs. How much pressure, money, and blackmail is needed to vote for the resolution – I don’t know, but to vote against it, all you need is an honest heart, a love for justice, honor, and courage,” Karan concluded.
