Mufti of Belgrade of the Islamic Community of Serbia, Mustafa Jusufspahić, stated that as a Muslim in Serbia, he testifies that the Serb people are not genocidal and that Serbia does not deserve such a label.

Mufti Jusufspahić emphasized that Serbia is his country, where people live and pray to God in mosques, churches, and synagogues.

“There are thousands of mosques where around 600,000 Muslims living here pray. Muslims in Serbia, which is governed by a majority Orthodox Christian population, live and work in harmony and have shared a common destiny for centuries, and I, as a Muslim of my Serbia, testify to that. This people are not genocidal, and my Serbia does not deserve this,” said Mufti Jusufspahić, who is also the Chief Military Imam of the Serbia Armed Forces.

He highlighted on the social network “X” that throughout history, there have undoubtedly been individuals with such insane ideas, but they have not infected the people who still fight against such ideas anywhere in the world.

“My Bosnia and Herzegovina has suffered, and I have felt every one of its pains in my heart. Its life, like the life of my Serbia, is given by God for us to live together in harmony. Let us be wise and not repeat the mistakes of the past, correct them, and be better people. May God help us,” emphasized the Mufti of Belgrade.
