The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the repeated postponement of the vote on the Srebrenica resolution in the UN General Assembly is proof that the small nation of Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vučić, has humiliated its sponsors and demonstrated historic unity among the Serb people.

“This is a historic example of a small country with an excellent president humiliating the sponsors of the Srebrenica resolution, who have postponed the vote twice to avoid showing the world their disgrace by only pressuring 50 countries, which they otherwise control through NATO, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank,” Stevandić said to Srna.

According to Stevandić, even these countries are not under complete control, so they are forced to embarrass themselves by pressuring and blackmailing other nations to push through this ‘trick’ resolution.

“It is incredible,” Stevandić emphasized, “that the vote in the UN General Assembly has been postponed twice for this reason, which only shows the current esteem of President Vučić and Serbia and the great unity of the Serb people.”

“We have never been more united, with Serbs from the former Republic of Serb Krajina, Kosovo and Metohija, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Republika Srpska. This is a historic example that all Serbian leaders can be proud of, especially Vučić, who represents our common positions. It is a historic example of the great unification of the Serbian people, regardless of where they live or what documents they hold,” Stevandić stressed.

He pointed out that all countries of the global south, a large part of Asian countries, and more than two-thirds of the world support Serbia, which has not been recorded since after World War I with the League of Nations nor after World War II with the formation of the UN.

The session of the UN General Assembly, where the proposed resolution on Srebrenica is to be considered, is scheduled for Thursday, May 23, as announced on the UN General Assembly’s website. The vote on the resolution has been postponed several times.
