The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that the resolution on Srebrenica will lead to divisions and misfortune in BiH and that the key argument for claiming it is a “Trojan horse” is the fact that BiH is not the formal requester and author of the resolution, but rather it is a private act of BiH’s ambassador to the UN, Zlatko Lagumdžija, created in violation of the Constitution and with the help of several powers.
Stevandić said that the Government of Republika Srpska has sent a serious document to the UN Security Council and is aware of what the representatives of Serbia are doing in New York regarding the Srebrenica resolution.
He announced that an extraordinary session of the Parliament of Srpska might be held.
- The session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska is scheduled for May 22, when a vote on the resolution on Srebrenica might be expected. In relation to that, we might call another extraordinary or special session before this regular session, or we could react to it with a single agenda item – Stevandić emphasized.
He pointed out that no BiH body has submitted a request to the UN General Assembly for the adoption of a resolution on Srebrenica by any decision.
