The President of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated that it is Christian Schmidt who is undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement, not Republika Srpska, which, as he emphasizes, will continue to function.
He pointed out that Schmidt undermines himself by submitting a report to the Security Council that did not appoint him, and noted that Annex 10 of the Dayton Agreement is something that Republika Srpska also signs.
- This is about disregarding rights and facts, and enforcing sheer geopolitical power – said Stevandić in a comment on Schmidt’s latest six-month report submitted to the UN Security Council.
Stevandić stated that he understands that very powerful countries keep Schmidt in an unconstitutional legal position and outside the decisions of the Security Council.
- But they have kept others as well, and they are no longer here, while Republika Srpska remains. Some are not even physically present anymore, like Paddy Ashdown. So, he will pass just like all the others, and Republika Srpska will continue to function – emphasized Stevandić.
