The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that significant investments are being made in road infrastructure and that Republika Srpska and its funds can support these investments.

During the central panel titled “Long-term Development Directions – Western Balkans,” Dodik mentioned that Republika Srpska already has 120 kilometers of highway and that the primary goal is to continue towards Modriča.

  • We already have contracted arrangements. We have contracted with the Chinese to build the road from Modriča to the Brčko District and from the Brčko District to Bijeljina. The section from Rača to Bijeljina is already under construction. We believe that in the next four to five years, we will be able to have a connection between Banja Luka and Belgrade with a highway. We will again have a small problem that we will try to solve – Dodik stated.

He explained that partners from the Bosniak community are demanding a route that is 20 kilometers longer, which is completely irrational from the perspective of Republika Srpska.

Dodik said that the plan for this year is to develop projects related to the expressway that should go from Trebinje towards Bileća and all the way to Višegrad.

Dodik also mentioned that the road from Zvornik to Pale is being repaired and modernized.

SRPSKA’S ECONOMY IS THE LEAST INDEBTED IN THE REGION

President Milorad Dodik declared today on Jahorina that Republika Srpska has a growing economy and is the least indebted in the region.

Dodik highlighted that Republika Srpska has created new jobs, with more than 5,000 jobs opened since the beginning of this year alone.

  • Republika Srpska has increased its domestic product from 16 billion KM last year to 19 billion KM this year – Dodik said at a press conference after the opening of the Jahorina Economic Forum.

He noted that Republika Srpska is recording new investments and conducting dynamic economic activities, with the lowest cumulative rates of gross wage burden.

  • Republika Srpska supports investors. Currently, 10 billion KM in new investments are being generated – emphasized Dodik.

Dodik stated that the economic growth is also being recorded in BiH, indicating that there is an environment conducive to creating good business ideas here.

  • You have countries like Serbia where the structure of power ensures new investments, but we also see the actions of opposition and other groups. Therefore, in BiH, it is specific because BiH is composed of two entities and three constituent peoples – Dodik said.

He mentioned that holding the Jahorina Economic Forum is very significant and an opportunity to improve the policies of Republika Srpska.
