The theater festival “Kustendorf” under the motto “Is There Life Before Death” will be held at Mokra Gora from Friday to Sunday, May 17 to 19, featuring competitive and review programs.

As part of the competitive program, on Saturday, May 18, students from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad will present performances “Grasshoppers” by Biljana Srbljanović and “The Meek One” by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

On the same day, students from the Academy of Arts in Belgrade will perform the play “Animal Farm” by George Orwell.

On Sunday, May 19, students from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade will perform the play “11 Potkosulja,” and students from the Banja Luka Academy of Arts will perform “The Bald Soprano” by Eugène Ionesco.

The festival will also have a rich review program, including four plays performed by the National Theater from Sombor, the National Theater Subotica, and the State Theater of Young Brianza from St. Petersburg.

The awards will be decided by a three-member jury consisting of actress Vanja Ejdus, director Jana Maričić, and playwright Đorđe Kosić, as reported by the “Iskra” portal.

The award ceremony and the closing ceremony of the Festival are scheduled for 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, followed by a concert by Duda Burbuja and “Haiku for Today” starting at 11:00 p.m.

Theater “Kustendorf” will be attended by students of dramatic arts from Serbia, Republika Srpska, and Russia, and admission is open to all other visitors.

The festival is organized by “Rasta International” under the patronage of Emir Kusturica and sponsored by the company “Transfer”.
