Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Serbian member of the Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, said that the resolution on Srebrenica is a trick to reconcile East and West, which have differing views on the conflict in Gaza, and emphasized that “the path of the resolution shows its intentions.”
- So, you come from a country, from the representative of one constituent people, you haven’t ensured internal consensus on this issue, you haven’t consulted anyone even though it concerns many. Then sponsors and co-sponsors appear at the end, who have heavily bloodied their hands throughout history. What they did didn’t come up at the UN General Assembly, but the issue of Srebrenica did – Cvijanović said.
Cvijanović said she neither wants nor has ever diminished any victim.
All heinous crimes are condemnable. Every criminal, no matter their name or where they live, should face justice – Cvijanović stated.
Cvijanović noted that these are political games in which a resolution that is non-binding should be stamped.
- They reduce it to the area of culture, memory, and the like so they can manipulate with the numbers they will get during the vote. They transfer an issue that falls within the domain of the Security Council to the General Assembly. So, it’s full of manipulation – Cvijanović said.
She emphasized that Germany leads the main process in a way that undermines trust in BiH and does not promote any reconciliation.
- They just caught on to the trick and abused the victims because today they cannot achieve any consensus on an important issue, and that is Gaza. Now they have found this topic to reconcile East and West, which think quite differently about it – Cvijanović said.
