The President of the Serbian Assembly, Ana Brnabić, stated today that she believes the Srebrenica resolution will come to a vote at the UN in May, while also highlighting the incredible victory achieved by Serbia President Aleksandar Vučić in New York.

“He succeeded with a whole team of people. But ultimately, he did the most during these five days in New York with a large number of meetings, with almost all delegations… To virtually speak with almost all the world’s statesmen, which in the UN is 190 countries, in five days, is an effort unimaginable. He succeeded to the extent that they shook them up so much that they are no longer sure how the voting will actually go. And that is an unimaginable victory for Serbia. And that they postponed it,” Brnabić said on TV Prva.

She added that those who are “pushing” the adoption of the resolution at the UN are exerting serious threats and pressure.

“This has nothing to do with diplomacy anymore. These are not just pressures, these are serious threats. If you don’t vote – we will do this, that, and the other. No more credits, investments, support in this, or we will directly do something against you. This is no longer diplomacy, these are brutal threats and it ultimately shows how the current world order looks,” she added.

Brnabić also notes that the world order is changing.

“You have countries that will no longer tolerate being threatened, harassed, and ridiculed at the United Nations. Someone says ‘something that is a matter for the Security Council we push to the General Assembly,’ such serious issues we bring to the point of being outvoted. That is why the world order is changing. Because it’s no longer even diplomacy,” said Brnabić.

Brnabić believes that Vučić will return to New York and continue this fight at the United Nations.

“He is at the very source of things, talking with the heads of missions and pushing our whole mission,” Brnabić said.
