Draga Mastilović, Director of the Institute of Historical Sciences at the University of East Sarajevo, stated that there is an obvious fear of the scientific truth about Srebrenica and attempts are being made at the UN to cement “their truth,” as was done at the Hague Tribunal.

“The events in Srebrenica, according to international law and scientific criteria, cannot be characterized as genocide, yet they were labeled as such by the Hague Tribunal. Now, there is an attempt to impose the label of genocide on the Serbs at the UN,” Mastilović explained.

He expressed concerns that the greatest danger of the Srebrenica resolution, considering the fate of the Serb people in the last century, lies in preparing a new exodus for Serbs in the region.

Mastilović highlighted that Bosniak politics have not renounced their war goals and still have the same mentors in the Western world, primarily Germany.

“The resolution will not only deepen the division within BiH but will also prompt proactive policies from Srpska to inform the global community about the genocide committed against Serbs in this region during World War II,” he added.

Mastilović emphasized, “Germany should be compelled to confront its past before creating new myths in the Balkans. In Germany, the revision of history has never ceased.”
