In the eighth round of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Basketball League, Prijedor-Spartak made a significant move towards survival by defeating Orlovik at home with a score of 104:84.
Despite the victory, Prijedor remains at the bottom of the standings with a 9-21 record, while fifth-placed Posušje and fourth-placed Slavija both have a 10-20 record, setting the stage for a decisive final two rounds to determine who will be relegated from the elite division. Coached by Danilo Palalić, Prijedor had already secured a 22-point lead by halftime, making it clear they would achieve their fourth victory in this segment of the competition. Siniša Šorak led the winners with 25 points, followed by Nemanja Stanković with 15 and Srđan Adamović with 14.
This weekend, Prijedor will visit Leotar, who has already secured their league survival. Leotar recently overcame Slavija on their home court with a score of 110:93, complicating Slavija’s situation in the relegation battle as they could end up last if they lose both remaining games. Stefan Adžić scored 25 points to lead the home team, assisted by Stefan Glogovac with 19 points, and Marko Rikalo who added 16 points and eight assists. For the visitors, Srđan Jovanović scored 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Posušje recorded an important victory against Prom with a score of 95:78 and will visit Slavija next round, where a victory would secure survival for Slavija, while a loss for Posušje, depending on other results, could lead to their relegation.
