The Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina has stated that the remarks made by Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, describing the “Russian aggression in Ukraine as devastating to the energy markets,” are politicized and represent his personal opinion influenced by his Anglo-Saxon mentors.
“As we know, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the body constitutionally responsible for foreign policy, has not made any statements regarding Russia’s special military operation,” the embassy said in a statement.
Regarding the destabilization of energy markets, the Russian Embassy pointed out that Konaković might want to ask the US ambassador, with whom he maintains close relations, who blew up the Nord Stream pipelines.
“Even to someone not at all versed in politics, it is clear that Washington, by hook or by crook, seeks to undermine Europe’s economic power to impose its gas on everyone. However, even under such conditions, some EU members rely on deliveries from Russia,” the statement added.
Concerning Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Russian Embassy reminded that they have repeatedly, based on facts, proven the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.
“Russia has never breached its obligations in this sphere. We do not oppose the diversification of gas supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it should be based on principles of fair and open market competition,” the embassy emphasized, adding that Washington, unable to win in a fair fight, tries to push through decisions beneficial to it.
The Russian Embassy warns that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be aware that these decisions would inevitably deal an irreparable blow to their well-being, something that America does not care about.
