Political analyst Nenad Kecmanović highlighted that Bosniak sponsors continually test the resolve of Republika Srpska, gauging the best moment for their next move. However, he stated that the people of Srpska have issued a warning to both Bosniaks and the West. This current leadership generation, headed by Milorad Dodik, has proven itself worthy in defending the legacy of its founders.
ADOPTION OF THE RESOLUTION IS NOT A DONE DEAL
Kecmanović mentioned that the adoption of the Srebrenica resolution is not entirely certain, despite appearances that it is a foregone conclusion. He discussed the options available to Republika Srpska and Serbia, noting that a significant unity across the Drina River has already been achieved.
“Externally, there is always an expectation that increased pressure will scare the Serbs into retreating and dividing; however, this has backfired. They made a mistake by striking at both sides of the river simultaneously,” Kecmanović emphasized.
He further noted that following initiatives for Kosovo’s admission to the Council of Europe and the adoption of the Srebrenica resolution, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has never been more vocal and explicit in his support for Republika Srpska and Dodik personally, despite previously showing incredible patience and stamina in endlessly negotiating over Kosovo and Metohija and calming Dodik’s frequent robust responses.
Kecmanović assessed that the Srebrenica resolution, currently being prepared for adoption at the UN General Assembly, is necessary for the USA and the collective West as a consolation to the Islamic world for Gaza.
“The West sends a message to Muslim countries – ‘You accuse us of standing behind Israeli crimes against Muslims in Palestine, but look, we are promoting a resolution about the genocide of Muslims in Srebrenica. The compensation: alleged 8,000 Muslim victims in Srebrenica for more than 35,000 Muslims in Gaza. In the first case, the victims were adult males, in the second, 90% were women and children. As transparent as it is cunning, even though the American manipulation is evident, it is unlikely that any Islamic country will vote against the resolution,'” said Kecmanović.
He pointed out two additional reasons for adopting this resolution, which aims to hit several targets with a single bullet; one being to retroactively justify NATO’s depleted uranium bombing.
“Italian soldiers who were just loading bombs onto bombers at the Aviano NATO base suffered permanent radiation damage and received substantial compensation through courts. Imagine the potential claims from the populations over which the bombs were dropped in Srpska and Serbia; a time will come when they will have to pay, and they are contemplating that they might soon face war reparations,” Kecmanović mentioned.
Furthermore, he stated that the resolution aims to justify future similar actions by Western powers if they decide to provoke another civil war in BiH or the Balkans.
Despite appearances, Kecmanović believes the adoption of the Srebrenica resolution is not guaranteed, primarily because, in the current anti-American and anti-Western climate in the Islamic world, the Muslims from BiH are the only ones unconditionally loyal to the USA, which has caused antipathy towards Bosniaks by their religious brethren.
“If they have not yet gained the courage and confidence to unite in defense of the Palestinians, voting against the resolution in the UN General Assembly represents a significantly smaller risk. Finally, Russia, which has previously blocked the same initiative in the UN Security Council, is reportedly preparing a very clever initiative to expand the resolution on Srebrenica to include the genocide in Gaza,” Kecmanović highlighted.
He is confident that such a modification of the resolution would be wholeheartedly supported by not only Muslim countries, while the USA would then, almost certainly, withdraw theirs.
THE PEOPLE OF SRPSKA HAVE SENT A WARNING TO THE BOSNIAKS AND THE WEST
Kecmanović emphasized that the Serbs sent a clear response to the resolution from the “Srpska Calls You” rally in Banja Luka, where a significant turnout was a serious warning to both the Bosniak elite and their sponsors that the people of Republika Srpska overwhelmingly support their elected leadership.
“Bosniak sponsors continuously feel the pulse of Srpska and measure the moment when to make their next move with the least resistance from the people. This generation of leadership in Srpska, led by Dodik, has proven worthy of the generation of its founders in defending their legacy. That’s why they have been trying for two decades to remove them from the scene,” Kecmanović emphasized.
However, he stated, this is not realistic as long as the leadership of Srpska receives support from the people in elections
and massive gatherings, like the one in Banja Luka.
“They have the protectorate, the so-called high representative, and Bonn powers; they have even doubled the EUFOR forces, are suing the President of Republika Srpska, and yet they can do nothing, or as former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said, ‘they can win but can’t solve anything in BiH,'” Kecmanović noted.
