Former White House envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Richard Grenell, has concurred with Efraim Zuroff, the director of the “Simon Wiesenthal Center,” on the matter of Srebrenica. Zuroff recently wrote in the “Jerusalem Post” that not every crime is genocide.

“This is so true. Germans are pushing a UN resolution to label [the Srebrenica massacre] as genocide 29 years after the event,” Grenell wrote on the “X” social network platform.

He argued that not all war crimes should be classified as genocide.

“Labeling other war crimes as genocide diminishes what the German authorities did in 1941. Keep politics away from this sensitive but important designation,” Grenell concluded.

In his article, Zuroff stated that the crime in Srebrenica does not meet the definition of genocide and that in recent years the term genocide has been used in cases that do not fulfill the original criteria for this crime.
