Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, stated that by accepting the report of the Independent International Commission for the Investigation of the Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica Region from 1992-1995, the government aimed to establish truthful data, which is not the desire of those sponsoring the UN resolution on Srebrenica.

Addressing the Republika Srpska National Assembly during a special session, Višković highlighted that the Serbs experienced genocide and now those who perpetrated it are sponsoring the controversial resolution, adding that all this is to the detriment of the Bosniak people.

“You will see one day that this is your biggest mistake. You call for coexistence and unity and swear by BiH. This is not reconciliation. Reconciliation is this report in the National Assembly,” emphasized Višković.

He pointed out that the Independent International Commission ascertained that it worked independently and without pressures, and its goal was to reach objective facts.

“This commission approached institutions in Sarajevo and requested information and names of participants who would work in the Commission. They always received a negative response or none at all,” said Višković.

He highlighted that the Commission’s work was led by Gideon Graif, one of the world’s foremost authorities on Holocaust studies, and concluded that the events in Srebrenica could not be characterized as genocide, as clearly defined in the adopted UN Convention.

“Do not tell us what some have told. Mention a single site of Muslim suffering in World War II,” Višković stressed, responding to a discussion by SDA deputy Ramiz Salkić.

He reminded that the crimes committed by Muslims against Serbs during World War II were so heinous that even the Germans, who tried to save the Serbs in Podrinje, were appalled.

“There are Garavice, Jastrebarsko, Jasenovac… This resolution on Srebrenica aims to cleanse the conscience of those who committed genocide. Look at who is proposing it. Exactly the countries that have truly committed genocide. Now the rest of humanity should deal with the Serbs as a genocidal people,” Višković argued.

He asserted that there would be 30 million Serbs today if not for the suffering in the past century, and noted that Serbs have always defended their homes and families and never engaged in conquest wars.

“German Nazis committed atrocious crimes in World War II, but even the Germans in Rwanda showed brutality with machete beheadings.

“Now they are the ones submitting a resolution at the UN claiming the Serbs are genocidal. I know the background of this. Bosniaks think if the UN passes it, then there will be calls to dissolve Republika Srpska. It won’t happen!” Višković stressed.

Višković said that the submitted resolution is changing the voting rules at the UN only to adopt this controversial document.

“This world is heading towards a cataclysm. What’s happening in the world is not genocide, but in Srebrenica, it is? Jasenovac, Brod on the Drina, Jadovno, those aren’t genocides to you? Each of these places has several times more victims than Srebrenica. Serbs in Podrinje were slaughtered before July 1995,” Višković stated.

He highlighted the crimes committed by Muslim units in Kravica where women and children were killed at their doorsteps.

“We will never agree with Ramiz Salkić. We must today express our opinion on the findings of the Commission, the experts, from 10 countries around the world. These are the highest authorities,” Višković emphasized.

He stressed that the Government of Republika Srpska, by accepting the report of the Independent International Commission, did not revise history, but sought to establish truthful data.

Višković also commented on the judiciary in BiH, stating that in the BiH Court, Serbs are judged under BiH law, while Bosniaks under the law of former Yugoslavia due to milder penalties.

“Bosniaks are judged as if they were shoplifting, hence the shameful verdicts for the murder of children, such as the case with the killing of the boy Slobodan Stojanović,” Višković concluded.
