Dodik: China Recognizes Republika Srpska as a Valuable Partner

Republika Srpska is recognized by China as an attractive and valuable partner, said Milorad Dodik, the President of Republika Srpska, after a meeting with a Chinese delegation, according to RTRS.

Dodik highlighted that the Chinese representatives have shown how projects should be conducted and that Republika Srpska can cooperate with them in all areas of activity.

During the meeting, priorities related to economic cooperation were discussed.

“We also discussed how we can support the One-China policy and the policies they are promoting regarding regional and global paths,” Dodik stated.

The President of Srpska pointed out that Republika Srpska was the first in Southeast Europe to develop the Stanari Thermal Power Plant.

“We are proud that President Xi Jinping has often mentioned this fact,” said Dodik.

He noted that Republika Srpska has very good cooperation with China but also faces many problems from the West, which he believes are trying to stop many projects that Republika Srpska is leading.

“We are not giving up on them. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there are almost no projects being realized with their companies, while Republika Srpska is managing 10 projects and we are considering new ones,” emphasized the President of Srpska.

Dodik remarked that all actions taken by the representatives of Srpska are conducted with the goodwill and friendship they share with the People’s Republic of China and its authorities.

The Chinese delegation stated that they are ready to bring developmental experience in planning and designing transportation networks if needed.

“We have a significant advantage in engineering technology and equipment and can provide relevant services and cooperation. On key projects where Republika Srpska and China have collaborated, we have received full support from the embassy and financial institutions. Regarding banking, we hope to work together to promote them,” the statement from the delegation read.

They added that they will actively explore investment opportunities in the energy and transportation infrastructure sectors and seek appropriate investment opportunities in the mineral resources sector.
