Petar Djokic, the leader of the Socialist Party, emphasized the importance of the public rally scheduled for Thursday, April 18th, as a crucial expression of the Serb people’s will against being labeled as genocidal, and highlighted that it is the Serbs who have historically suffered for freedom.
“Genocide was committed on the territories of the former Yugoslavia during World War II against the Serbs, and that could be characterized as such, which has not been done to date,” Djokic pointed out.
Discussing the Srebrenica resolution, which will be voted on in the UN General Assembly, Djokic stated that its purpose is to obscure the crime committed against the Serbs in Jasenovac, at a time when we mark 79 years since the breakout of Jasenovac camp inmates from one of the largest concentration camps where over 700,000 people were killed.
