As the Republika Srpska Cup progresses, first league teams aim to surprise the premier league teams. Borac will host Sloga from Doboj at their home ground (3:30 PM), while Sutjeska Foca will visit Zvijezda 09.

The team from Kozarska Dubica has been performing excellently in the spring part of the championship. Out of seven matches, they have secured six victories, with their only loss coming against the league leader Radnik in Bijeljina. Coach Slobodan Starchevic is pleased with the atmosphere in the team.

“The solid performances we have shown in the spring part of the championship have influenced our attendance. The crowd is growing, which certainly pleases us and shows that we are on the right path. We hope they will support us in the Cup semi-final as well. Just reaching this stage is a historic success. Sloga is the favorite, we are aware of the opponent’s quality. They have reached two cup semi-finals and are fifth in the BiH league. We highly respect our next opponent, but it is certain that we will not surrender. Our good results in the continuation of the championship have brought us confidence and additional energy. We want to play as well as possible. It is certain that we will look for our chance to achieve a favorable result in the first match,” Starchevic clearly stated.

Sloga also faces a series of tough matches. They are without their top scorer Dejan Vidic, and on Friday they have an away game in the Premier League in Banja Luka, followed by the second leg of the BiH Cup against Zrinjski. All this affects the team managed by Vlado Jagodic, who will need to find solutions.

“Our imperative is the Dr. Milan Jelic Cup, as Sloga has never won this competition. We are in a tight schedule. We are not Real, City, Red Star, or Partizan to have such depth. There will be many changes in the team, not because we underestimate anyone, but due to fatigue. Especially do not underestimate a team that has one defeat in the last seven matches and one goal conceded. I highly respect colleague Slobodan Starchevic; he will make an excellent career. For us, a positive result will be to not lose. But we definitely want to reach the final,” said Vlado Jagodic, coach of Sloga. The main referee will be Nemanja Aleksic from Banja Luka.

We Played Fairly

Vlado Jagodic was particularly affected by the stories after the match against Zeljeznicar.

“The external world, which is impudent, eagerly awaits any poorer result to make various unfounded qualifications, but it negatively affects our psychology. We must rise above it. We do not have time to bother with things that were reported about this match, which was played fairly and honestly,” said Jagodic.
