The Serb member of the Presidency of BiH, Željka Cvijanović, stated today that Republika Srpska is committed to respecting the Constitution, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of BiH, and it is not her officials and institutions that are violating this, but rather the actions of high representatives and the collusion of foreign and Bosniak judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH over the years.
At a special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Cvijanović said that the Dayton Agreement did not give high representatives the authority to manage BiH, and that the measures undertaken by high representatives, certain ambassadors, and the Constitutional Court of BiH are dangerous.
Cvijanović emphasized that there is an ongoing undermining of the Dayton Agreement, not due to the actions of Republika Srpska but due to foreign factors.
She stressed that they consistently hear nonsensical claims that representatives of Republika Srpska are violating the Dayton Agreement.
“Republika Srpska and its representatives fully respect the Dayton Agreement. The fact is that today, the Dayton Agreement is being violated only by an unelected foreigner,” Cvijanović stated.
She reminded that Christian Šmit did not go through the appointment procedure and lacks legitimacy, highlighting that Šmit is undermining Dayton and confirming that BiH lacks sovereignty.
“The undermining of the Dayton Agreement is the undermining of BiH,” stated the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH.
Cvijanović emphasized that BiH’s European path is impossible with the presence of an unelected foreigner imposing decisions and undermining BiH.
She recalled that Republika Srpska advocates for BiH’s European path, aiming for the end of international tutelage and the departure of foreign judges from the Constitutional Court of BiH.
“We witness persistent attempts to devalue domestic agreements, especially by foreigners who wish to manage BiH,” said Cvijanović.
