The Russian Ambassador to BiH, Igor Kalabukhov, stated that Russia is grateful to the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for his pragmatic policy and the development of relations between the Russian Federation and Republika Srpska.
“Recently, a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Milorad Dodik was held. We have very important agreements that we are working on. A delegation from the National Assembly of Srpska also visited Moscow. They had very productive talks both with the leadership of the State Duma and with the leadership of the Federation Council,” Kalabukhov said in an interview with Pečat.
He mentioned that agreements have been signed, so there are relations in the fields of culture and humanitarian activities.
“We understand the entire pressure on President Milorad Dodik by the West, some sanctions. We consider it to be unlawful. As Dodik said in Vienna, there are a large number of people in the West who would like to meet with President Putin. Here’s just one example, when a document against Russia is being adopted at the UN General Assembly. They tell us there about the pressure from the West and Americans on delegations,” Kalabukhov explained.
He highlighted that they are aware of such pressure.
“We are grateful to President Dodik and the leadership of Republika Srpska for their efforts in relations with the Russian Federation. There are benefits in our relations, but also in our trade connections and in terms of defending international law. For example, especially regarding the illegal high representative. We have some prospective plans, so it will be, I think, in the future as well,” said Kalabukhov.
The conversation with Igor Kalabukhov also touched upon the elections in Russia and the election winner, Vladimir Putin, and he mentioned the creation of a global multipolar order.
“You know, we have the result of the elections in the Russian Federation, and what will happen in other countries, especially in the USA, that’s their business. Putin has said, ‘We are ready to work with anyone chosen by the American people.’ But now we see the difference, even in the election process – how many candidates we have, how it’s conducted there. I think the general direction is clear. It’s a fight for a new world order, but generally, I don’t expect any major changes,” Kalabukhov stated.
