The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is confident that BiH will enter negotiations with the EU on March 21, but he is not sure about receiving a date.

“I’m ready to bet, I’m confident that BiH has received negotiating status. I don’t believe we will immediately get a date for the start of negotiations, but I’m sure we will get the negotiating status,” Dodik told Klix.

He emphasized that BiH has gone through an association agreement, implemented numerous reforms, and fulfilled much.

Dodik mentioned that receiving negotiating status will not dramatically change anything and evaluated that BiH should be on the European path.

“If the conditions they ask from us were placed before at least 18 EU member states, they could not meet them, when some countries were accepted 15 years ago there were far fewer conditions,” Dodik said.

Dodik noted that his birthday is on March 12 and believes it will lead to an important date, which is that BiH will receive negotiating status on March 21.

He added that he would like to reach an agreement on the law on courts before March 21 but reminded that they cannot agree on the seat.

Federal partners think that the basic department should be in Sarajevo, which we do not dispute, and the appellate department should be in Banja Luka, said Dodik.

Regarding the Court of BiH, Dodik reminded that there is no constitutional basis for its formation and that the Law on the Court of BiH was imposed by the high representative, and it has been shown that there are many problems.

If looking from a more favorable solution perspective, Dodik believes it is better to wait to open a chapter and resolve the issue through the judiciary.

He considers the highest degree of society’s criminalization to be in the renegade sphere called the judiciary.

Speaking of the “Trio”, Dodik said there is a consistency problem because one thing is agreed upon, and at the next meeting, it no longer applies.

“I’m not one of those people; when I agree on something, I will fulfill that obligation even at my expense. I think they don’t harbor malice; they defend positions they think need to be defended,” said Dodik.

Regarding the possibility that Christian Schmidt imposes technical amendments to the Electoral Law if domestic leaders cannot agree, the President of Srpska reiterated that such a move is unacceptable and that any imposition by Schmidt could lead to consequences for BiH’s European path.

“He’s lying, he won’t impose anything, today his boss Baerbock was here, and he thinks he can impose something. He can’t impose anything. He’s just a complication,” Dodik emphasized, adding that everything introduced by high representatives needs to be redefined.

He agreed that the position of the Central Election Commission of BiH needs to be redefined, citing the problem of the Presidency where the Croatian side insists.

Dodik, who is also the leader of the SNSD, emphasized it’s not true that he’s negotiating with the SDA, but that he met with former FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić a month or two ago and conversed, assessing that this man was unjustly judged.

He highlighted that the SDA covered the entire Republika Srpska with a para-intelligence structure, that the Intelligence-Security Agency was exclusively used against Srpska, and about this, he can speak based on the documents available to him.
