“I believe that the future of the EU lies in what Viktor Orban promotes, in what he thinks the European Union should be, or there won’t be one,” said the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for Russia Today.

Dodik, speaking from Kazan after a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stated that Russia’s victory in all fields will be Republika Srpska’s victory.

“I am very proud to have spoken with the President, wished him all the victories he can achieve, and said that all of Putin’s victories and Russia’s victories are ours. We believe that Russia is on the right side of freedom for people and states. President Putin is fulfilling an important mission of our time in that regard,” Dodik stated for Russia Today.

Dodik emphasized that Russia was forced to defend its people and, therefore, initiated a Special Military Operation. He added that Europe, under the influence of the United States, was deceived by siding with the Ukrainian regime.

European countries, he noted, have become aware of how energy-dependent they are on Russia, as evidenced by reduced production levels and the recession that shook the EU.

“The West is in collective hysteria and demands that everyone in the region join their sanctions. Republika Srpska, like Serbia, has not done so, and we remain subjected to almost daily pressures,” Dodik said.

He highlighted how proud Republika Srpska is of its cooperation with both Serbia and Hungary.

“Serbia is the guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, it has signed the General Framework Agreement, and Serbia is responsible for Republika Srpska,” Dodik said, pointing out that the West has tried to separate Serbia from Srpska, but that it is practically impossible.

Taking the example of the reunification of two Germanys, Dodik said he believes that one day there will be the unification of the Serb people on both sides of the Drina River, which he sees as a logical sequence of events, although the West tries to dispute this right with smaller nations.

Also, cooperation with Hungary and Prime Minister Viktor Orban is significant, and Dodik sees him as a sovereign leader.

“Orban is one of the strongest contemporary leaders in Europe; he has a policy unlike other Westerners who follow someone else’s policy,” Dodik pointed out, emphasizing that neither Emmanuel Macron nor Olaf Scholz have their own, but follow “someone else’s” policy, adding:

“His policy is to preserve the state, preserve the people, preserve sovereignty, and preserve freedom. In that regard, he respects such values for others.”

Republika Srpska and its leadership, as Dodik highlighted, respect the same values and fight for them as Viktor Orban does, which is why they understood each other and later became collaborators and friends.

“I believe that the future of the EU lies in what Viktor Orban promotes, in what he thinks the European Union should be, or there won’t be one. Surely it will not be under the patronage of just one country called Germany,” Dodik pointed out, highlighting that for leadership in the EU, you first need to have a powerful leader like Germany does not have, as Merkel once was.

However, Western sanctions against Russia complicate cooperation for Republika Srpska, Serbia, and Russian companies.

Dodik announced that in the coming period, he will focus on how to facilitate business for Russian companies.

Nevertheless, Russia, as a great friend of Republika Srpska, continued the favorable gas agreement with Srpska, which Dodik highlighted as very significant.

The President of Srpska did not hide his satisfaction but also gratitude to Vladimir Putin for the reception, as well as the support that Russia has been providing to Srpska from Dayton to the present day.

Srpska Respects Moscow’s Stance Regarding National Currency

Dodik emphasizes that Republika Srpska respects Russia’s stance, which aims to strengthen its currency and economy, and will do everything it can to provide enough funds to pay for Russian gas in rubles.

“We respect Russia’s stance; they want to strengthen their currency and economy. We will do everything we can to provide enough funds for payments in rubles on the free market. We are changing our money for payments,” Dodik emphasized.

According to the President of Srpska, the understanding shown by Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin puts Srpska in a better position compared to other regional countries when it comes to gas.

“I must emphasize that the price offered to us is very favorable for us, and that is thanks to concessions from Russia. The price remains the same, and it has been confirmed that it will remain so for the next payment period,” Dodik added.
