The President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandić, stated in a discussion with the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, that it is necessary to fulfill all 14 key priorities as soon as possible, which includes closing the OHR and transforming it into an EU office.

Stevandić mentioned that the EU office should oversee and support the accession process, which would lead to a reduction in political tensions within BiH.

He highlighted that the Republika Srpska is a democratic society that makes its laws in a parliamentary manner and will not accept any external imposition or interference in its legislative process.

Stevandić believes that respecting the Dayton principle of agreement among three peoples and two entities, without the intervention of the international community, is the only foundation for proper political action within BiH, according to a statement from the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska.

During the meeting, which was also attended by the head of the EU Office in Banja Luka, Simon Gverini, the stance that the institutions of the Republika Srpska, together with representatives of the European Union, remain committed to the European integration of BiH was reiterated.

Stevandić stated that this goal is currently politically stalled due to the presence of an illegal High Representative who, by imposing his decisions, slows down the European integration process, acts anti-democratically and anti-European, the statement from the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska reported.

The meeting emphasized that the interlocutors have good and open communication, and there is a willingness to discuss all issues.

According to the statement, further cooperation was confirmed with the aim of implementing all necessary reforms to continue European integrations, respecting internal political processes and principles of democracy.

The statement mentioned that the meeting discussed activities and key issues related to the European integration process.
