“We have had good cooperation with the People’s Republic of China, and I am convinced that it will continue,” emphasized the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, at a reception organized by the Chinese Ambassador Ji Ping on the occasion of the Chinese New Year and his departure from BiH.
“China has always respected the specificities in BiH and, unlike the USA, has never interfered in the internal affairs of BiH. Therefore, we are grateful to China, its people, and President Xi Jinping for their understanding and support,” Dodik highlighted.
Dodik pointed out significant economic investments in Srpska by the People’s Republic of China.
“We had the opportunity to use the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative and to build the ‘Stanari’ Thermal Power Plant, which is one of the biggest investments not only post-war but in the last 50 years, built with Chinese technology that has proven to be the best. And not only that, but the construction of roads, hospitals,” added Dodik.
Ambassador Ji emphasized that according to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Dragon is just around the corner, and on behalf of the Embassy in BiH, he extended sincere congratulations to all Chinese in BiH, Chinese companies, teachers, and students.
In addition to Dodik, the reception was attended by the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto, the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly, Marinko Čavara, and the Deputy Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Goganović.
