Nuždić: Judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina have adopted the practice of the Hague Tribuna

Acting director of the Republic Center for Research of War, War Crimes, and Finding Missing Persons, Viktor Nuždić, believes that the judicial institutions at the BiH level have adopted the practice of the Hague Tribunal and a narrative suggesting that Serbs are allegedly the sole culprits for the war events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“That’s why it’s not surprising that the number of accused and convicted Serbs for war crimes is several times higher compared to the number of accused and convicted Bosniaks and Croats,” said Nuždić to SRNA.

Nuždić points out that the number of individuals accused is not proportional, and it is challenging to conduct trials for each case, considering that 230 Serbs are in the proceedings before the BiH Court, while the remaining approximately 70 Serbs are in proceedings before entity courts and courts in Serbia.

Nuždić emphasized that the responsibility for this situation lies with the judicial institutions at the BiH level, which are not constitutional. He pointed out that through the ongoing process against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, these institutions demonstrate a sole focus on accusing the Serbian people and Republika Srpska.

He reminded that the Government of Republika Srpska has allocated certain financial resources in recent years to assist accused individuals of Serb nationality in their defense.

Nuždić added that the Republic Center has been available throughout these years to all individuals accused, providing material documentation and various forms of legal assistance.

Institutions in Republika Srpska must find a lasting systemic solution to provide financial and legal assistance to former members of the Army of Republika Srpska accused of war crimes. This was concluded yesterday at the session of the Presidency of the Veterans’ Organization of Republika Srpska in East Sarajevo.

President of BORS, Radan Ostojić, stated that there has been no systemic solution in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 30 years to establish a balance in issuing indictments. It appears that only members of the Army of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska are being accused of crimes.
