The National Theater of Republika Srpska continues with its concert activities this year as well. Another one of the concerts from the “Serenade for….” cycle will be performed before our audience, this time under the title “Serenade for…. allies”, on Friday, January 26, at 8 pm on the Great Stage of the National Theatre.

This time, soloists Dejan Trkulja (clarinet) and Sonja Bobrek Savić (piano) will play at the concert, accompanied by the String Orchestra of the National Theater of the Republic of Srpska. The program will feature composers who are less performed and less known to our audience, namely: Gyula Beliczay, Bao Yuankai, Anton Arenski and our composer Miroslav Štatkić.

Gyula Beliczaj is an important composer of the Hungarian neo-national school. Elements of Hungarian folklore are subtly present in his work. Bao Yuankai is one of the most famous Chinese composers, known for his cycle of 24 compositions called “Chinese sights and sounds”, in which the pastoral of that ancient civilization is presented through music. According to the same principle, Miroslav Štatkić depicts his native Prizren and the village at the foot of Šar mountain with his music. Finally, Anton Arensky, the Russian composer who glorifies Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is another patriot and composer with whom we will mark this concert “for the Allies”.

“Allies – friends, partners, helpers and supports – are important to us in every segment of life. As before, we are addressing our audience, our greatest allies. The year that is behind us will be remembered for the start of two cycles of concerts, but also for the performance of the opera ‘Carmen’. We invest all our efforts and strength in our concert season, first of all, because the support and support of our audience means a lot to us” – said the conductor and artistic director of SO NPRS.
