Denis Šulić, a member of the Main Board of the SNSD (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats), believes that the attack on the Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Aleksandar Goganović, is an expected result of the activities and inflammatory politics of Zukan Helz, which has long been warned about in Republika Srpska. This incident represents evidence that independence should be considered.
“It was only a matter of time before his open hatred towards Republika Srpska and everything coming from Srpska would awaken similar sentiments among his compatriots and like-minded individuals,” Šulić told SRNA.
Šulić, who is also the Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, stated that neither this attack nor the legal proceedings announced by Helz have intimidated Goganovic or any representative of Srpska who were in Sarajevo yesterday with President Milorad Dodik.
“They only gave us additional motivation to persist in defending our positions and to continue working on the strengthening and development of Republika Srpska because it is evident that our unity and strength affect them the most,” Šulić emphasized.
He said that representatives of Republika Srpska will maintain their dignity and always call for peace everywhere, unlike Helz and similar individuals, as well as their sympathizers who carried out this attack.
Shulic reminded that after yesterday’s attack, Goganovic called on all members of the Armed Forces of BiH from the Serb people to abandon the announced protests against the Minister of Defense Zukan Helz and to remain dignified, professional, and perform their regular duties.
“We are not like them, and we will never be, because our goal is to have a strong and developed Srpska, not to poison and hinder the development of the entire country with hatred, as Zukan Helz, who is part of the SDP, the militant wing of the SDA, is doing. This only represents another in a series of evidence that Republika Srpska should consider independence,” concluded Šulić.
Deputy Minister of Defense in the Council of Ministers, Aleksandar Goganović, was attacked yesterday in Sarajevo after the political trial against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, confirmed the Chief of Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Defense, Aleksandar Nikolić, for SRNA.
Nikolić stated that Minister of Defense Zukan Helz, after announcing the filing of a criminal complaint against the Deputy Minister of Defense for attending the marking of the Republic Day, indirectly called on the Bosniak people to lynch Goganović.
He noted that Goganović was taken to an official vehicle and thus protected from lynching, adding that the attackers constantly shouted, “Long live Helz, death to Serb Goganović.”
