Investigate wartime past and role in crimes – Kojić demands the arrest of the Vice President of the Municipality Assembly of Bratunac, Vehid Delić

President of the Assembly of the Republic Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Fighters and Missing Civilians, Branimir Kojić, has called for the urgent arrest of the Vice President of the Municipality Assembly of Bratunac, Vehid Delić, to investigate his wartime past and role in crimes in Kravica, on Ozren, and other battlefields.

Kojić stated that Delić, in an interview on a Sarajevo television, mentioned that as a minor, he took up arms and set out “to defend Bosnia and Herzegovina from aggression.” He added that Delić then claimed that Kravica was “liberated with heart,” although it has been an ethnically pure Serb village for centuries, and later admitted to joining the “El Mujahideen” unit and fighting on Ozren.

“We ask the public and politicians in Bratunac, is it possible that they couldn’t appoint anyone else to such an important position? Did they follow the example of Srebrenica councilors who elected the son of the infamous Zulfo Tursunović as president?” Kojić questioned.

He pointed out that at a time when the Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, is lying about alleged camps with Russians in Rogatica, Delić is boasting about being in the notorious unit and expressing that he “had the feeling he could kill everything that was Serb,” even if it was, as he said, “two kilograms.”

“Who can guarantee that he doesn’t still think that way? With whom do we live here, who holds such high positions in Republika Srpska?” Kojić asked.

He demands that Delić’s wartime past and role in crimes be urgently investigated, that he be immediately removed from the position of Vice President of the Municipality Assembly of Bratunac, and Salko Tursunović be removed from the position of President of the Municipality Assembly of Srebrenica.

“Such people cannot be officials in the state for which our fathers gave their lives, which they and their closest relatives were killing in the most monstrous way, especially here in Podrinje,” Kojić concluded.
