“Young pioneers of the Football Club Željezničar from Doboj have made a fantastic result in the Youth League, West group. Namely, the young football players have concluded the competition in the autumn part of the season with a perfect record of 18 victories.
The result gains significance considering that the senior team of Željezničar plays in the Regional League, Center group. However, the dedicated work of the young players and coaching staff, led by coach Danijel Vuković, has yielded a remarkable outcome.
The young Doboj residents triumphed in the Youth League against younger categories of Premier League teams like Borac and Sloga, as well as first-league teams Željezničar ST, Kozara, and Rudar Prijedor.
The result didn’t come overnight but is the fruit of two years of solid work. There was a change in the club’s leadership, and the new management started making significant improvements. Collaboration was established with the Football School Achko from Doboj, allowing the children from the mentioned school to continue their football development within the ranks of the Doboj ‘Blue’ team.
Alongside children from the Achko FS, licensed and high-quality coaches from the Achko FS have taken over work with Željezničar’s younger selections. Through two years of continuous high-quality work by the new management, coaches, children, and ultimately with the support of parents, the fruits of that labor have started to show, and these victories are crucial for the children.
“The boys are hardworking, diligent, and regular at training, which is the hallmark of this generation. Alongside their undeniable quality, the achieved result is realistic and expected. I have known the children I coached at the Achko FS and who have been working with me for four to five years. It’s well known in detail who can do what, and what they are capable of. After two years of forming the team, it resembles a large family, which is ultimately the main reason behind the excellent results. I must also mention my excellent cooperation with coach Mr. Bego Čabrić, who, together with me, works with this generation and significantly contributes with his experience,” said coach Danijel Vuković.
That the boys from Doboj have significant potential was shown in friendly matches with peers abroad. The team won tournaments in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Serbia, and Croatia.
“What matters most to us, even more than the results and goals, is the behavior of the boys. I must say that all of them are exemplary, well-behaved boys, outstanding in their school obligations as well as on the field! Our victory, all of us working with them, is to have as many children as possible fall in love with sports, not necessarily football directly, and for them to stay in it as long as possible to develop healthier, make friends with children who share the same interests, and, in that way, pull more children away from the streets and keep them on sports fields,” added Vuković.
The young expert is continually working on his additional education. Currently, he is obtaining a B license from the Football Association of BiH. In his work, he receives great support from Bego Čabrić because currently, in this category, there are over 40 kids.
Draw against Red Star
The younger pioneers of Željezničar have also shown their potential beyond the borders of Republika Srpska on numerous occasions. For instance, in Banja Luka, the Doboj boys played a draw (1-1) against the Serbian champions, the team of Red Star Belgrade.”
