“The Republic of Srpska was visited by 416,024 tourists in the first 10 months of this year, recording 968,478 overnight stays. This marks a 10% increase in arrivals and an 8% rise in overnight stays compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Tourism Organization of the Republic of Srpska.

“Comparing the number of overnight stays during the first 10 months of this year to the same period last year, spa resorts saw an 8% increase, while other tourist destinations possessing attractive factors such as climate, cultural and historical sites, rivers, and lakes experienced a 12% increase. Meanwhile, mountain resorts remained at the same level as the previous year,” said Sanela Šimun, a Public Relations Associate at the Tourism Organization of Srpska.

She mentioned that, similar to the previous year, the highest number of overnight stays, apart from domestic tourists, were contributed by guests from neighboring countries such as Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. Additionally, tourists from other European countries like Turkey, Germany, Austria, and Italy were notable.

“Domestic tourists had the highest number of overnight stays in spa resorts, followed by other tourist destinations, then mountain resorts and other locations with hospitality facilities for accommodation,” added Šimun.

She also noted that foreign tourists had the most overnight stays in other tourist destinations, followed by spa resorts and mountain resorts.”
