“Alexander Babic, a family medicine doctor at the Trebinje Health Center, is unique in many ways. Since birth, he has had a rare medical syndrome, causing his main vital organs to be in a different position than in other people.

This has resulted in health complications and frequent respiratory illnesses. Dr. Babic struggles with cystic fibrosis of the lungs, requiring continuous oxygen, but he still works with patients. Simultaneously, he seeks a path towards his own healing.

For two years now, Dr. Ac has greeted his patients while connected to an oxygen machine, without which he cannot go for more than twenty minutes. Some patients cross themselves, some shed tears, some pat him on the back, he shares.

His main goal now is to seek treatment at one of the best clinics for lung diseases in Vienna, holding hope for a cure. He aims to continue working and being available to patients and colleagues at the Health Center, who have always been understanding of his condition.”
