Minister of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska, Željka Stojčić, announced that the “Safe Internet” service has been activated in five pilot schools in Republika Srpska. This service aims to block access to certain content such as weapons, betting sites, social media platforms, YouTube, and similar content.

Stojčić mentioned that, in collaboration with the company “M:tel,” this service has been activated since November 2nd at the Mrkonjić Grad Gymnasium, the Vlado Milošević Art School in Banja Luka, the primary schools “Branko Radičević” and “Sveti Sava” in Banja Luka, and the Technical School in Trebinje.

“We received information from M:tel that this service is functioning, and users who attempt to access blocked content will receive a warning message informing them that the content is restricted within the service,” clarified Stojčić for Srna.

She emphasized that this service protects users from malicious attacks, with users being alerted through warning messages.

“Schools where this service has been activated need to test this option and provide their feedback and suggestions, including lists of currently blocked content that users cannot access,” added Stojčić.

According to her statements, there are plans to activate this option in an additional 32 primary and secondary schools by the end of the year. Subsequently, an evaluation will be conducted, and recommendations regarding this service will be defined.
