“The film ‘Traces’ by Croatian director Dubravka Turic, which was showcased in the competitive selection ‘Traces,’ marked the conclusion of the Zvornik segment of the International Film Festival ‘First Frame’ tonight. The festival will continue in East Sarajevo.
The Artistic Director of the Festival, Aleksandra Mitric Stifanic, told SRNA that today, the Zvornik audience had the opportunity to watch films from the competitive program representing all festival selections. The film school ‘First Frame’ and an animated film workshop were conducted.
Stifanic emphasized that over the next three days at the Zvornik Youth Center, regional films such as ‘Wake Me Up’ by Slovenian director Marko Shantic, ‘After Winter’ by director Ivan Bakrac from Montenegro, and ‘Garbura’ by Montenegrin director Josip Zuva will be showcased.
The 17th edition of the film festival ‘First Frame’ commenced on November 24 at the Zvornik Youth Center, inaugurated by actors Aleksandar Mikic and Ana Stojanovska from North Macedonia.
This year’s festival, titled ‘Do You Have an Idea?’, began with the screening of ‘Kaymak’ directed by Milcho Manchevski from North Macedonia.
Over the past three days, the Zvornik audience had the opportunity to see six films from the region that had not previously had cinema distribution in East Sarajevo and Zvornik. Some of these films were premiered at prestigious festivals, including works by award-winning directors such as Milcho Manchevski, the laureate of this year’s ‘First Frame.’
At the opening of this cinematic event in Zvornik, the collaboration between the Film Festival ‘First Frame,’ the city of Zvornik, and East New Sarajevo was confirmed.
The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the director of the Film Festival, Vitomir Mitric, Deputy Mayor of Zvornik Milos Tomic, and the director of the Cultural Center in the municipality of East New Sarajevo, Mladen Jankovic.
Director Vitomir Mitric expressed satisfaction with the highly fruitful collaboration with the city of Zvornik and the municipality of East New Sarajevo in the field of culture, especially regarding film arts.
This year’s Festival has two juries – one assessing films in the ‘Traces’ selection composed of Srdjan Savic, Milan Todorovic, and Nenad Pavlovic, and the other for short feature and documentary films comprising Dragan Elcic, Dejan Petrovic, and Hadzi Aleksandar Djurovic.
The film festival took place in Zvornik from November 24 to 26 and will continue in East Sarajevo, with the opening scheduled for tomorrow evening, lasting until Wednesday, November 29.
The festival is supported by the Audiovisual Center of Republika Srpska, the cities of East Sarajevo and Zvornik, as well as the municipalities of East Ilidza and East New Sarajevo.
