“Postcard from Irresistible” – A film about Banja Luka has won the first prize for promoting a tourist destination in the field of urban tourism at the 16th International “ART & TUR” Tourism Film Festival in Portugal.


Scenario follows the decision of a young married couple from abroad visiting Banja Luka for the first time. What awaits them exceeds all their expectations, and by the end of the film, they promise themselves they will surely return to this enchanting city on the Vrbas River – captivated by its attractions, natural beauty, and diverse cultural, entertainment, sports, and other programmatic offerings.

The award-winning video was created by the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Tourist Organization of Banja Luka, and the City of Banja Luka with a clear aim of global promotion and invitation to the embrace of this Krajina beauty for potential visitors. The film showcased the tourism potentials of both rural and urban areas of the city, with the participation of numerous citizen associations, agricultural producers, sports collectives, and hospitality establishments.

During the four-day festival, 82 films were screened, selected from 262 competitors from 47 countries worldwide. The film about Banja Luka, titled “Postcard from Irresistible,” presented on the first day of the festival, is considered the best international film promoting products and a tourist destination. The films competing in this festival were judged by a panel of 43 experts from 22 countries around the world.

The 16th ART & TUR International Tourism Film Festival is one of the top ten festivals in tourism and documentary film, being a full member of CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals). Nearly 300 participants from various countries in Europe, South America, Africa, and Asia took part in the festival.

The festival program included, among other things, panel discussions on tourism and the promotion of tourist destinations, highlighting culture and gastronomy as drivers of tourism development, art and craftsmanship as differentiating factors in destination branding, and storytelling and the promotion of tourist destinations.
