President Milorad Dodik congratulated Tobias Rausch on his election as president of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
“His election represents a confirmation of the will expressed by citizens in the recent elections and an important moment in Germany’s political life. I wish him success in carrying out this responsible duty and believe there will be opportunities to strengthen cooperation and mutual understanding,” Dodik wrote in a post on X.
Tobias Rausch, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, was elected president of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament yesterday.
Rausch secured a majority of votes in the newly constituted parliament in Magdeburg, one month after AfD won the state elections, according to the German news agency DPA.
