The anniversary exhibition “Ten Art Gatherings 2014–2026,” organized by the Pale Association of Art Lovers, opened last night at the Žarko Vidović Gallery in Istočna Ilidža.
Association President Goran Šinik said the exhibition features a selection of works created during ten art gatherings held between 2014 and this year, offering visitors an opportunity to explore the diverse artistic styles and creative work of the participating artists.
He said that 56 artists from Serbia and Republika Srpska have taken part in the gatherings over the past decade.
“Tonight, we have paid tribute to all of these artists by exhibiting one work from each of them, while some of our most prominent artists are represented by several works,” Šinik said.
The exhibition also includes works by the late artists Dragoslav Husar, Nenad Nestorović, Mijat Petronić and Obrad Jovanović, providing an opportunity to remember them and their artistic legacy.
Šinik said the exhibition will remain open to visitors until October 14.
Drago Vučić from Bileća, one of the participants in the art gatherings, said he was particularly pleased to see works by colleagues who are no longer alive.
He expressed hope that the organizers would continue holding the gatherings for many years, describing the event as one of the most significant art colonies in Republika Srpska.
Another participant, Branislav Kovačević, said the exhibition presents the beauty and energy brought by artists who take part in the colonies and leave their own distinctive mark.
Miljan Popić, President of the Program Council of the Žarko Vidović Gallery, said it was an honor to host the exhibition on the day the gallery marked the second anniversary of its opening.
